SWAN is a private swim school, providing swimming lessons to children and young people with additional support needs in and around Edinburgh. Launching in August 2023, we are working closely with parents and carers to create an inclusive space for children of all needs to learn and thrive in the water.

Our lessons focus on learning core skills and water safety. Progression to stroke development will be explored when appropriate for each learner, and always taken at their pace.

We create space for individuality through adaptations of swim skills and strokes, allowing for progression regardless of mainstream milestones.

SWAN aims to bring inclusivity to the swimming pool, understanding the importance of swim skills for children and young people of all abilities. The teacher will aim to work collaboratively with parents/carers and the learner, to ensure compassion, care and consideration to all needs are acknowledged throughout the learner’s journey.
